CRANE COUNTY - The Texas Forest Service says a fire in Crane County has burned 1,200 acres.
The fire broke out on Thursday around 3:30 near Tarpley Road, about five miles east of Highway 385.
Fire crews from Crane, McCamey, Upton, and Ector counties responded to help put out this blaze.
Some tank batteries on the property were threatened by this fire.
There is other oil field equipment in the area as well.
The Forest Service says they are confident they will have the fire taken care of by Thursday night.
