MIDLAND - Tall City Police say a drunk driver is to blame for overnight power outages that forced them to block off a Loop 250 service road.
Officers say it all started early Sunday morning around 2 a.m. when the driver hit a cable off Loop 250 and Midkiff which held up a power pole and transformer.
The accident caused damage to other power lines, and left nearby residents without power for hours.
After he ran into the cable, the driver sped off.
Police say the caught up with the man down the road and arrested him.
His car was left with extensive damage.
Police say ONCOR workers have been working to repair the damage.
