Woman Dies After Motorcycle Accident in Midland

MIDLAND - A woman has died after a motorcycle accident in South Midland.

33-year-old Robert Lee Barsic was arrested after the crash around one a.m., near the southside Wal-Mart in the 2200 block of Rankin Highway last week.  

According to Police, Barsic was riding his motorcycle north when he got distracted, hit a cement divider, and lost control.  

Barsic and his passenger, 38-year-old Shelley Trout were thrown from the bike.  

We're told neither one was wearing a helmet.  

Trout suffered major head injuries, and was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital where she later died. Barsic was not seriously injured.  

He was arrested and charged with intoxication assault. Those charges could be updgraded after Trout's death.
