Texas State Officials are dealing with mounting bills after taking custody of more than 400 FLDS children.
Right now, caseworkers with Child Protective Services are traveling all over the State to check on the children in foster care.
But state officals say there is now a backlog for reimbursement of those expenses.
So caseworkers are having to pay those high gas prices out-of-their own pockets.
Officials with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services say they plan to hire more workers to speed up the process.
They say the backlog is due to added time and expenses after the raid on the Eldorado compound.
