NEW YORK (AP) - Just as Memorial Day day weekend begins, gas prices have reached another record high. AAA and the Oil Price Information Service says the price of a gallon of regular rose more than 4 cents overnight to $3.87 and a-half cents.
But it's worse for drivers in Alaska, Connecticut, California, New York and Illinois. In those five states, the average prices is already more than $4 a gallon. Alaska is tops at $4.18.
Analysts say with global oil prices continuing to climb to new highs, pump prices could soon rise well above the $4 barrier.
