MIDLAND - A hearing was held in Federal Court Friday morning for a Midland College Professor who has been charged with distributing child pornography over the Internet. Allen was arrested Monday night at his home in north Midland.

Another hearing will now be held next Tuesday to determine if Allen will remain in federal detention or receive inpatient treatment at a facility that specializes in sex addiction. The judge wants time to research the facility. That would also give forensic experts more time to present evidence that was recovered from Allen's home computer.

Allen has been the Director of Theater at Midland College for the past ten years. He is currently on unpaid leave from the school. His work computer was also seized by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials as part of their investigation.

I.C.E. officials say Allen was exchanging pictures of children involved in sexual acts over the Internet. Those children ranged in age from infancy to 15 years. Allen faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
