SAN ANGELO - Custody hearings are on hold after a court ruled Child Protective Services jumped the gun when they removed more than 450 children from the polygamist compound near Eldorado.
The 3rd Court of Appeals in Austin said the state's reasons for removing the children were "legally and factually insufficient."
An attorney representing some of the children says the Judge in San Angelo has ten days to change her custody order.
The state can appeal.
It's not clear whether the children now in foster care might soon rejoin their parents.
CPS removed the children from the ranch near eldorado over allegations of abuse, which members deny.
