MIDLAND - It's time to clean-up our Downtown.

That's the word from the Midland City Council as they take the next step in their
revitalization project.

On Tuesday, City Council members said there focusing on cleaning up a lot of vacant buildings that have fallen into disrepair.

The city recently passed an ordinance affecting those buildings that have been empty for more than 30 days.

Their target building's covered in plywood and in bad shape.

They say it's the building's owners who are responsible for replacing the plywood with glass or other material.

In the meeting, Council members agreed to give owners 30 days to fix all the broken glass.

If they don't comply, owners could get an up to $2,000 dollar fine.
