AUSTIN - Texas law officers who died in the line of duty were honored Tuesday in Austin.

25 lawmen and women who died in the past two years were remembered at Tuesday's Department of Public Safety Memorial Service for Fallen Officers.

The service was held at the DPS Training Academy and Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst delivered the keynote address.

A wreath was placed at the foot of the memorial wall with the names of the deceased DPS Troopers.

The wreath was placed by Michaela Burns, the widow of Trooper James Scott Burns who was killed this past April after a high speed chase in Marion County.
