Big Spring Police Officer “No-Billed” in the Shooting Death of Patrick Rios

BIG SPRING - A Big Spring Police Officer won't face any charges in connection with a shooting death in April.

A Howard County Jury "No-Billed" Officer Matthew Hooper in connection with the shooting of 37-year-old Patrick Rios.

When Hooper will be allowed to go back to work now is up to the Big Spring Police Department.

Hooper was working undercover on April 7th when he says Rios threated him with a shotgun.

Hooper fired at Rios and killed him.
