Pecos Police Release Murder Suspect's Name and Description

Police tell NewsWest9 they are looking for 50-year-old Randall Lee Stephens. He has brown hair, blue eyes and is a Pecos resident. Police say he has an extensive criminal history including sexual assault. He is the suspect in a double murder that happened Tuesday night.

PECOS - Police have released the name and description of the lead suspect in a double murder.

The brutal double homicide happened at DJ's Roundup Bar in Pecos Tuesday night.


Family members of the victims say they think the murder happened between 10 p.m. and midnight on Tuesday. The names of the victims are Richard and Alicia Cherry. They owned DJ's Roundup.

Police say he has an extensive criminal history including sexual assault.

Police say Stephens could be driving a charcoal grey, 1994 Ford F-350, 4-door rig truck with a heavy duty bumper. The truck has a heavy-duty back bumper and pipe pumpers. The truck was owned by the murder victims. The license plate number of the truck is 8DFV60. 

An autopsy has been ordered and will be performed in El Paso.
