Man Wanted for Shooting a State Trooper Shoots Himself

A man wanted for the shooting death of a State Trooper has committed suicide, and his girlfriend is behind bars.

Troopers found 37-year-old Brandon Wayne Robertson near Morris Lake in Cass County.

As troopers closed in on him, Robertson shot himself.

Troopers arrested Robertson's girlfriend 36-year-old Jennifer Lynee Petrick who was with him.

Criminal charges are pending against her.

Robertson was wanted for shooting and killing Trooper James Scott Burns after leading Burns on a car chase.

Robertson was a former police officer.
