MARATHON - New details in the Marathon murder over the weekend.

We now know the name of the man killed outside the Gage Hotel.

The Brewster County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim as 48-year old Richard Lynn Purdy.

Purdy was shot and killed Saturday night, right in front of the landmark hotel.

68-year-old T.J. Dunlap of presidio is the man investigators say pulled the trigger.

Authorities say Dunlap shot Purdy one time, and jumped in his car, and headed for Alpine.

Dunlap was caught about halfway between Marathon and Alpine by state troopers.

Investigators are still talking to witnesses trying to figure out what happened in the moments before the deadly shooting.

For now, T.J. Dunlap has been charged with murder.

He remains in the Brewster County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
