MIDLAND - A New York man pulled off a Continental Flight Thursday night at Midland International Airport won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

44-year-old Arthur David Proskin is sitting in the Midland County Detention Center waiting to go before a federal judge in connection with Thursday night's flight diversion from Houston to Palm Springs, California.

According to authorities, Proskin got upset when he was hit in the leg with a beverage service cart, and started to swear at flight attendants, then at other passengers.

We're told the pilot, fearing for the safety of everyone on board decided to divert the flight to Midland.

The FBI says Proskin will face federal charges of crimes aboard an aricraft, including interference and making threats.

If he's convicted, Proskin could face up to 20 years behind bars, and a 250 thousand dollar fine.

Proskin will be held in federal custody at least until he goes before the federal judge.

We're told that will most likely be on Monday.
