HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - A Hobbs man is behind bars for the attempted murder of a security guard.
Police arrested 49-year-old Humberto Urias Saturday night, just moments after he pulled a .22 caliber handgun and shot 31-year-old Arthur Soso in the chest.
Thanks to a bullet-proof vest he purchased himself, Soso wasn't seriously injured.
The shooting took place when urias showed up at a dance at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
According to police, Urias appeared intoxicated and angry.
Soso sprayed him with pepper spray. That's when Urias allegedly pulled the gun and fired.
Bond for Urias has been set at $55,000.
