SAN ANGELO - Day two of the largest ever child custody case.

On Friday, a child psychiatrist took the stand in San Angelo.

The hearing involves State authorities and a Polygamist sect.

Bruce Perry testified that children who belong to the mormon sect are taught that disobeying orders leads to eternal damnation, but defense attorneys argue that Perry's knowledge of the group is not broad enough for him to form opinions.

A judge is trying to decide if the State acted properly in removing more than 400 children from the group's ranch near Eldorado during a raid two weeks ago.

State authorities claim the group forced girls as young as 13 into marriage and motherhood. Sect members deny that any abuse takes place.
