HOUSTON (AP) - Grammy-winning Tejano singer Emilio Navaira has been upgraded to fair condition, more than three weeks after he was critically injured in a bus accident.
The 45-year-old singer was behind the wheel of his tour bus on March 23 when it slammed into a collection of freeway barrels that mark the interchange of Interstate 610 and U.S. Highway 59 in Bellaire, a southwest Houston enclave.
Officials at Memorial-Hermann-Texas Medical Center announced Wednesday that his condition had improved from critical to fair condition. They said more details on his condition would be
provided at a news conference with his Dr. Alex Valadka and the singer's wife Maria Navaira on Friday.
