More details are emerging into the investigation of a Polygamist compound near Eldorado.
Schleicher County Sheriff David Doran says he's had a confidential informant working for four years inside the commune of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Texas Ranger Captain Barry Caver says the sect's 416 children were shuffled from building to building to elude child welfare caseworkers.
"They lined up about 57 people as we counted them around the walls if the temple, we weren't sure, they didn't appear to be armed. They told us if they did not do that then they would basically be in violation of their beliefs by not defending their temple," Caver said.
"We had to think outside the box when we executed this warrant. It wasn't done in a normal manner. That was an issue, that they were moving children, and that is one of the things that did delay this operation," Doran said.
And another startling revelation in Wednesday's hearing.
Investigators say they found a bed inside the temple in the compound.
Prosecutors believe that bed was for men to have sex with their wives right after marriage ceremonies.
The State's search of the compound ended on Wednesday.
