Crews Continuing to Battle a Grassfire Near Lovington, New Mexico

LOVINGTON, NEW MEXICO - Crews are still trying to get a handle on a grass fire near Lovington, New Mexico.

It's already burned several thousand acres, destroyed a barn and forced out people from three homes.

State Forestry Spokesperson Dan Ware says two air tankers and about 80 people are battling the fire that is spreading east of Lovington.

They've setup a shelter at the local cafeteria.

There is still no word on how it all started.
