HOWARD COUNTY - Howard County firefighters are mopping up after a big grassfire sparked up Thursday afternoon southwest of Big Spring.
So far, the "Hali Road" fire has burned 50 acres.
According to the Texas Forest Service, the blaze is about 80 percent contained.
We're told seven homes were in danger, but all the homes were saved.
The Forest Service launched an air attack, including a helicopter, and a helitanker, along with a task force of bulldozers.
Right now, the Volunteer Fire Department is finishing off the fire.
