COAHOMA - Coahoma I.S.D. must start searching for a new superintendent, after the current head announced his resignation Monday.

After 34 years in education, Superintendent Jerry Johnson tells NewsWest Nine he's leaving his post to enjoy extra time with his grand kids.

Johnson says a consulting firm will likely get called in to help find his replacement.

His retirement goes into effect June 30th.
