HOWARD COUNTY - Authorities are saying a 271 acre grass fire in Howard County on Thursday started when a driver parked a car on tall grass.

Jan Amen of the Texas Forest Service says a catalytic converter started the fire just south of town.

The fire tore through two mobile homes, seven cars, and several other buildings.

Amen says, the same day another fire south of Midland started with a parked car, and officials are warning drivers to watch where they park.
