State Fines Company Working Out of Andrews

That's how much money in fines.

A Dallas-based company working in Andrews must fork over to the state.

But right now, officials with waste control specialists says there is no danger to public.

The Associated Press reports the company faces the fines for violations stemmming from 2005 and 2006.

Officials say that's when a small amount of chemicals ended up in the company's septic system.

Waste control specialists runs a facility for radioactive waste in Andrews near the New Mexico border.

Officials with the Centers for Disease Control say those violations did not appear to be a significant danger to the public.
