ODESSA - An interview with a local radio station landed one Odessa Police officer in hot water.
Just a week after he helped secure a pay raise for all O-P-D officers.
Corporal Terry Mercer, President of the Professional Police Officer's Association was suspended without pay Wednesday after an interview with KCRS, a local radio station.
Mercer's wife, Adrianne, told NewsWest Nine he was off duty, and had no idea the interview was being broadcast.
Mercer was wearing his police uniform during the interview.
The four day suspension will start Tuesday, that's when she says he'll have to turn over his badge and gun.
Mercer was also stripped of his field training officer pin, and crisis intervention unit certification.
