BIG SPRING - The grassfire grew to about 100 acres, it's located on the Northwest Side of Big Spring along I-20.

The good news is the Forest Service of Midland, along with area firefighters have  the fire under control.

There were no homes or businesses in the fires path.

There are reports that a breaker box shorted out on some oilfield equipment which sparked the blaze around 3:30 Thursday Afternoon.

The only disruption in the area was to the Union Pacific Railroad.

Officials in Howard County halted railroad traffic in the area due to the fire.
