Midland Man Recovering After Family Fight Turns Violent

MIDLAND - A Midland man is recovering after police a say a family fight turned violent, and landed his step-son in jail for stabbing him.

22-year-old Safari Coleman was arrested Saturday night, and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to Midland investigators, it happened around 7:30 in the 800 block of south Carver.

Police say Coleman was arguing with his step-father, Carlos Cavazos, when it turned violent, and ended when Coleman stabbed him.

Cavazos was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Coleman remains in jail on a 10 thousand dollar bond.
