New developments in the controversy surrounding First Basin Credit Union's failed bid to convert into a Bank.

Late Tuesday afternoon, First Basin announced that it asked an Ector County District Judge to order the deposition of three people who rallied against the conversion.

That request was made as the Credit Union investigates what it calls ''false and misleading'' statements made about the proposed conversion.

First Basin also claims the group called "Save First Basin" is connected to a radical credit union industry group in North Carolina.

Officials say that misinformation has hurt the Credit Union's Board, and the Company's reputation.
