BIG SPRING - No word yet on when the body of a Big Spring soldier killed in the line of duty will return home.

22-year-old Conrad Alvarez was killed in Baghdad Tuesday, he had just made the rank of Sergeant.

This was his second tour of duty in Iraq.

He grew up in Roscoe about 60 miles east of Big Spring, and graduated from Roscoe High School.

Sergeant Alvarez is survived by his mother Belinda Garcia and his wife Myra Alvarez who both live in Big Spring.

Two other howard county soldiers have been killed while on active duty in iraq.
