ODESSA - Ashley Furniture and Kicks 99 are joining forces to help raise funds for the local Children's Miracle Network.
Thursday kicked off the Seventh Annual Kicks 99 Radiothon where they team up with Ashley Furniture to help Medical Center raise money for its CMN patients.
Kicks 99 morning show hosts,Mmike and Dana were on hand on Thursday, and when asked why this is so important for the community, Mike said it has personal connections.
"Well we started fresh in 1991 when we were asked to help out with the Telethon and we came aboard. We were asked to do our little bit, we did our little bit and didn't think anything of it, and then at the time didn't know Dana was pregnant, and then in December, Eric was born 6 weeks early and wouldn't have survived the elevator ride downstairs if it hadn't been for the equipment that was purchased with Telethon money from here, he would have died. So that's why we do it," Kicks 99.1 Morning Show Host, Mike Carrol, said.
Since Medical Center became this regions CMN facility in 1987 more than 3 million dollars have been raised locally to help children in the Pediatric Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
