ODESSA - A man wanted for murder is being questioned by Odessa Police.

Tear Gas was used to force the suspect to come out and surrender to police.  Odessa Police have not released his name, but NewsWest 9 has confirmed that he is wanted for questioning in a murder that happened early Tuesday Morning at Billy's Zodiac Club on South Dixie in Odessa.

The man who was shot and killed was identified as 24-year-old Cornelius Jubar Washington.

The suspect involved in Tuesday night's standoff is facing a number of charges and more could be filed.

"They shot about at least approximately 10 rounds of tear gas inside the apartment from the front and the rear, and eventually the suspect came out, laid down on the ground, and he surrendered without incident.  At this point, what'll happen is he will be taken into custody.  Charges are pending for the evading, and for the prohibited weapon, as the weapon was a sawed-off shotgun.  So he will be charged on that and then the investigation will continue as far as him matching the description as the possible suspect in the murder," Sherrie Carruth, with the Odessa Police Department, said.
