ODESSA - Time is running out for Odessa Police Officers looking for better pay.

On Monday, the Professional Police Officers Association must hand over their signatures to the city.

They need at least 25-hundred signatures and the petition must get turned in to City Hall by 5 p.m.

If they meet the deadline, an 18 percent pay increase for Odessa Police Officers will go before voters on the May ballot.

The downside, some critics say property taxes will go up if officers get the raise, but many supporters say their optimistic about getting enough signatures in time.
