MIDLAND - He says he wants to bring change to Texas and to America, but first, he's made his way to the Tall City.
Lieutenant Colonel Rick Noriega greeted supporters Saturday afternoon at the Midland County Democratic Headquarters.
Currently, Noriega is running as a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate.
He talked about everything from Iraq to immigration.
And he says his military background will help him to be a better member of Congress.
"And it's time we had leadership that's walked the talk. That knows the difference between M-16's and M&M's. Unfortunately, right now that we do have as Mr. Cornyn doesn't have that experience to bring to the table," Noriega said.
Noriega is hoping to deny current U.S. Senator John Cornyn from serving a second term.
