MIDLAND - A Midland Junior High Student remains in the Culver Youth Center, after being charged with handing out a prescription drug to fellow classmates. The girl has been suspended from Goddard Junior High. School district officials say she passed out Xanax, which is an anti-anxiety medication drug. The girl has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance to a minor. That's a felony. The school uncovered the problem when a teacher saw that a student appeared to be disoriented. That student was hospitalized but expected to be okay. Two other classmates went as well, they were checked out and sent home with their parents. The girl accused of passing out the xanx, now faces the chance of being expelled from school, either temporarily or permanently.
