MIDLAND - Midland's "Star Patrol" was on the move on Wednesday handing out big bucks to some very deserving schools.

Every year, the M.I.S.D. Education Foundation assembles its "Star Patrol".

They board a bus and deliver grant money to different campuses.

This year, six schools are the lucky winners of more than 16-thousand dollars.

The purpose to reward innovative teaching ideas.

"This is just a way to be able to reward and award those teachers the additional money that they need to do the creative things they want to do with their kids," Linda Foster, with the MISD Education Foundation, said.

Besides awarding money to schools, the foundation also hands out scholarships to Midland graduates who are setting their sights on becoming teachers.
