PECOS - A Pecos teen is waiting for more tests, after doctors removed a three inch pipe from his chest last week.

16 year old Hector Roman Junior, an All-American diver with the Pecos High School Dive and Swim Team is now recovering at home.

That's after spending days at Medical Center Hospital.

Roman will see a neurosurgeon on Thursday in El Paso to figure out when he'll get his next surgery.

The teen reportedly fell asleep at the wheel on Thursday night.

That's when his van veered off the road and into a fence.

Part of the fence lodged inches away from his heart and lung.

The family has setup an account at the Trans Pecos Bank under the Hector Roman Medical Fund to help with medical expenses.

Unfortunately, Hector won't be able to compete in the Regional Dive Competition in Lubbock this weekend.
