WEST ODESSA - No charges have been filed yet against a homeowner accused of sparking a grassfire in West Odessa.
But it could be coming, depending on what the investigation turns up.
The two acre blaze destroyed a travel trailer on Hoffman Street.
It also caused some smoke and water damage to a home on the property.
Investigators say a man was burning trash in a barrel when it somehow spread to a grassy area.
Nearby homeowners grabbed their hoses to keep it from spreading to their house.
Two fire units from West Odessa responded, but they called for back-up when they realized the blaze was getting out of control.
They were able to finally put the flames out before any damage was done or anyone was hurt.
While there is a burn ban in Ector County, you are allowed to burn trash as long as it's covered properly.
But firefighters are asking that you avoid doing that when its windy outside.
