ODESSA - Things are calmer for Dowling Elementary students in Odessa, after a scare Wednesday caused the school to be put on lockdown.

It happened after two men entered the building asking to use the phone.

That's according to a letter sent out to parents from the Principal.

When the school's staff started questioning the men, an Odessa Police Officer drove in front of the school.

The men spotted the patrol car, and took off.

As they made a run for it, a custodian tried to question them as well, but they just keep running.

According to school officials, they called security, locked both classrooms and outside doors, and searched the campus.

The men were not found.

School officials say the men never talked to any of the children.
