MIDLAND - The Midland Police Officer put on administrative leave after a deadly shooting last month is back on full duty, as of Wednesday.

K-9 Officer Mark Garza has been cleared of any wrong-doing in the shooting death of Alfredo Vela on December 20th.

Garza, along with members of the SWAT team, went to Vela's home to arrest him on a drug warrant.

When the SWAT team busted inside, they say Vela pointed a gun at them, forcing Garza to open fire.

While Garza has been cleared by the Midland Shoot Team, Texas Rangers are still conducting their own investigation.
