ODESSA - After hearing about an overflow of people at the Odessa Salvation Army's Homeless Shelter, Odessa Regional Medical Center has made a warming donation.

The hospital gave the organization 100 blankets and 100 sheets to help keep their sheltered warm during this cold season.

It all started when the hospitals Houskeeping department found some extra sheets.

Jackie Gore from Odessa Regional Medical Center tells us this is something the hospital felt they just had to do.

"We just think what Salvation Army is doing is wonderful and so needed in our community.  The homeless population is really growing right now, and especially with the really cold weather.  They were really letting us know that they really had some big needs.  We were cleaning some things out, our House Keeping Department found these linens and decided it would be a great place to donate them," Gore said.
