The City of Odessa is participating in a statewide Warrant Roundup in an effort to resolve more than 14,000 outstanding warrants in Odessa.
Beginning Saturday, February 16, 2008, four Odessa Police Officers will focus on serving and arresting people with outstanding warrants. Individuals with outstanding warrants are subject to arrest at any time and location, including their home, work or in public.
To avoid arrest, anyone with a warrant can appear in person at the Odessa Municipal Court, 201 North Grant, between 8 am and 5 pm on Monday and Friday, Wednesdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Municipal Court is also extending its hours and will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, February 16 and 23 and Sundays, February 17 and 24.
Money orders, cashiers checks, cash and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa and Discover) will be accepted. Checks and money orders should be made payable to the Odessa Municipal Court and should include a driver's license number and date of birth to insure proper identification.
Payments may also be mailed to the Odessa Municipal Court, P.O. Box 4398, Odessa, Texas 79761. Do not mail cash. Warrants will remain in effect until payment is received and posted by Municipal Court. Payments can also be made on-line at www.trafficpayment.com

The warrants are a result of an individual's failure to appear in person or in writing at the Odessa Municipal Court or failure to comply with a court order. Other types of citations that are handled through the Odessa Municipal Court, and that could be part of the roundup, include parking tickets, code enforcement violations, failure to sterilize a pet adopted from the Odessa Animal Shelter, and other violations of the Odessa Municipal code or state law.
