Adrian Madrid Barrera Pleads Guilty to Bomb Hoax Robbery

ODESSA - Nearly a year after pulling off a bank heist on the west side of Odessa, one of the men involved admits his part in the crime.

29 year old Adrian Madrid Barrera plead guilty in the bomb hoax robbery at the Chase Bank on West County Road in January of last year.  

According to the U.S. Attorney, Barrera and another man, Juan Ferrell, walked into the bank said they had a bomb and demanded money.  

We're told the two men made off with around 180 thousand dollars in cash.  

The bomb squad was called in but they never found an explosives.  

The two men reportedly ran off to Mexico, but Ferrell turned himself in a few days later in El Paso.  

Ferrelll received a little more than five years for his part in the robbery.  

Barrera, who was arrested in Odessa back in December, is facing up to 20 years behind bars when he is sentenced in April.
