MIDLAND - A Midland Daycare facing a big cleanup after a truck crashed right into their building on Thursday morning.

Fortunately the truck didn't crash all the way through the wall.

The accident happened around 9:30 Thursday morning at the Little Dreamers Learning Center on Carrizo Street.

Police say a car didn't yield to a truck coming the opposite way.

It ended up slamming into the truck which caused the truck to run over a fire hydrant and fence before hitting the building.

"If it wasn't for that water hydrant that truck would have gone straight through that building," Jesse Lopez said.

"It looks like just some minor damage to the building.  Obviously, the fence has come out, but the main thing is no one was seriously hurt," Rehanna Saheid-Dire, Assistant Director of the Day Care said.

The manager says none of the kids were hurt.

The Day Care uses that part of the building hit in the crash as storage.

The driver of the car was given a ticket for failing to yield.

Both drivers had minor injuries.
