Identity of a Man Killed on Hwy 385 Released

ANDREWS COUNTY - We now know the name of the man killed in a car accident Wednesday morning in Andrews County.  

49-year-old James Hays of Odessa was the driver of the pick-up that slammed into the back of the tanker truck.  

It happened around seven-30, about 10 miles south of the city.   

According to troopers, Hays and the tanker were both headed north on Highway 385 at the time of the crash.  

The pick-up then veered off the highway, crossed the service road, and crashed through the chain link fence.  

Hays was taken to the hospital in Andrews, where he was pronounced dead.  

The driver of the tanker was not hurt.
