MIDLAND- A Midland Fire Fighter is nursing a hurt shoulder Thursday, after battling an industrial blaze at a construction site. Construction workers for Elliot Electrical Supply Company, were busy remodeling an old Assembly Calvary Family Life Center when a fire started within the buildings insulation.

"It was pretty scary I was up on top of a ladder and had to crawl down," said Jose Martinez, who was working at the time, "It burnt the whole side wall, some of the kitchen part in there."

The fire fighter hurt in the blaze is expected back possibly by Friday.

"We expect him to come back to work. I don't know if it will be today or not, but he will be back," said Vince Hancock, Battalion Chief, for the Midland Fire Department.

Construction crews say it may take the Elliot Electrical Supply Company an extra week to complete renovations after Thursday's fire.
