Authorities in Big Spring are now investigating what could have caused 2 early morning fires.
According to Big Spring Fire investigators it happened early Tuesday morning a little after 2 a.m. in the 700 block of Creighton Street, and then just a little bit later, another fire was set just a little further down the block. Fire Marshal Carl Condray told NewsWest 9, authorities in Big Spring are now investigating what could have caused 2 early morning fires.
NewsWest 9 found thousands of dollars worth of damage on the 800 block of Creighton, including burnt furniture, a busted front door, and even bullet holes in the window. In addition, a car was damaged in what appeared to be another intentional fire.
The second home that was burned on Tuesday Morning was on the 700 block, just a few houses down the street. That one also had damage to the front door and windows. NewsWest 9 also discovered bullet holes all along the front of the house. The owner of the house said his car was also shot-up behind the home. Remnants of gasoline were also found at both houses.
Condray said it's a pretty bad situation for all of the families who live in the neighborhood, especially because there have also been other suspicious fires and even drive-by shootings. Luckily, he said, no one was injured in the fires.
