Two Hobbs men behind bars after being apart of a drug ring

Two Hobbs men in big trouble accused of being part of drug ring that authorities say has ran more than 300 pounds of meth through Lea County in the last three years.

27 year old Gilbert Acosta and 27 year old Francisco Hernandez are both facing federal charges of trafficking methamphetamines, and conspiracy to traffic meth.

After serving four warrants in several locations around Lea County, investigators say they recovered several pounds of meth and pot along with semi-automatic weapons and cash.

Hernandez has been released on bond.

Acosta was re-arrested after violating the terms of his release from an earlier arrest.

He is currently being held by the U.S. Marshals.
