Stopping the spread of rabies.

That's what the Texas Department of State Health Services hopes to do with their annual oral vaccination program which started Friday.

In Upton County, animal control officials went through the County baited rural areas with rabies vaccine.

Each bait has 2 mili-liters of oral rabies vaccine.

The specialized bait of fish meal is designed for coyotes, another for dog food bait has molasses and vanilla flavoring for gray foxes.

A drop was also conducted in Fort Stockton on Friday as well.
