Odessa Police Chief Chris Pipes announces his retirement

After 25 years on the job, Odessa Police Chief Chris Pipes is hanging up his badge.

Chief Pipes is planning on making it official at the end of March, but his last day on the job will be February 15th.

Pipes began his career with the Odessa Police Department in 1983 as a Cadet and has served has as an Officer, Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Deputy Chief, and Chief.

After Chief Pipes retires, Deputy Chief John Blanco will serve as Interim Chief until a permanent Chief is found.
