Shooting in Hobbs sends one to the hospital in critical condition

An apparent lover's quarrel in Hobbs ends with a man in the hospital, and the woman police say shot him behind bars.

According to Police, the shooting happened Friday morning around 11 local time in the 300 block of Sunset Place.

We're told the whole thing started with an argument between 29 year-old Phillip Beasley, and his girlfriend 43-year-old Veronica Hampton.

As Beasley left the apartment and was crossing the street, he was shot twice, once in the upper body, and once in his back side.

When police arrived, they tell NewsWest Nine Hampton admitted to shooting Beasley.

Beasley is listed in serious condition.

Hampton is behind bars, charged with attempted murder.
