Two Big Spring coaches connected to an assault charge are back in school.

NewsWest 9, the first to report the story this week, about accusations from a Big Spring mother who says football coach Derrick Workman kicked her son repeatedly in the face.

Big Spring ISD Superintendent Michael Downes tells us, because the mother's complaint was filed with the police rather than the school district, they are not taking any action at this time.

Workman and Lillian Chavez, the other coach present during the alleged assault are both currently at school.

Big Spring Police are still investigating.
